As a way to honour transitions and our ability to adapt and bloom past hardships, self-doubt and comparison midst finding our own way to move in this world, "When The Soul Overflows" is an audiovisual project about freedom of self expression in contrast to our innate fear of change as human beings. All captured and told through music, body movement, poetry and dynamic visuals.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
THE CREATOR
OLÍVIA MAMBERTI is a Berlin based visual media composer & singer songwriter from Rio, Brazil.
She has scored an ad, 6 short films, including No Place for Tears (2020) directed by Patrick Milani and selected by 13+ festivals, a mini-documentary for the German embassy in Beijing.
Her sound can be mostly characterised by its calm and uplifting atmosphere, usually evoked by the usage of vocal harmonisation and guitar layering. As for her own works, she is also folk-pop singer-songwriter who likes to explore an experimental blend of audio and visuals, being a video maker and a music video editor in the meantime.
Olívia moved to Berlin in 2019 to pursue her career in music and get her Bachelor's degree in Audio Production and Sound Engineering at Catalyst Institute. "When The Soul Overflows" is her final BA project, being a reflection of her own self expression journey through the past years as her knowledge in the fields of music and arts expanded since the start of her studies and this new chapter in her life began, bringing lots of shifts and challenges along the way that keep shaping her own identity as an artist and human being traveling through this life.
THE DANCER
VANESSA MORANDELL is an Italian contemporary dancer based in Zurich. After completing a preprofessional dance education in Motions Berlin, she is currently pursuing her higher education in Contemporary and Urban Dance in Zurich.
She directed two pieces in the biggest student theatre association of Zurich (Stuthe- Studierendentheater Zürich) and loves to mix elements of dance and theatre in her works.
Lately, she choreographed for Emma Giuliani’s dance movie “The Bird’s Cage”, danced for dance videos made by filmmaker Dico Bascoro and Olesya Fedulova and has experience as a dance model for various professional photographers, including Thomas und Petra Gerwers, Profifoto Magazine, amongst others.
